We have worked on significant projects across Canada. Below are some of the publicly available mandates on which we've worked.
University of Prince Edward Island
What We Did
We conducted an independent third-party review for the University of Prince Edward Island, into allegations it received of workplace misconduct against the President and Vice-Chancellor at the time. As part of this process, we conducted a review of the University's policies, practices, and procedures concerning harassment, discrimination, and fair treatment and made recommendations.
CBC
What We Did
We conducted a workplace investigation into allegations of inappropriate behaviour that surfaced after the termination of an iconic CBC radio personality. Our mandate was to consider whether the allegations were substantiated, and if so, if the CBC knew about the behaviour in question. This remains one of Canada's most well known workplace investigations.
University of King's College
What We Did
We conducted an independent review of accusations of sexual assault against a former professor after criminal charges against him, dating back to alleged behaviour from the 1980s, were made. We were asked to make findings of fact, determine what those in authority knew at the time and how they responded, and make recommendations. We conducted the review in accordance with survivor/victim centered principles and values.
BC Soccer
What We Did
We conducted a review in response to concerns regarding systemic cultural behaviours within the sport. We gathered information from a wide range of participants through surveys and interviews and examined a full range of bylaws, rules and policies.
Major League Soccer
What We Did
We conducted a review into how a member team handled historical allegations of misconduct against two former coaches. We considered the team's internal processes and culture at the time of the allegations, its current policies and procedures, and provided recommendations.
University of British Columbia
What We Did
We conducted an independent review of Campus Security in response to concerns of racial profiling. We were asked to examine particular campus policies and practices for systemic bias and institutional racism and to make recommendations on the issues that we identified. To aid in the assessment of potential systemic issues, we gathered information from relevant participants and stakeholders, reviewed relevant aggregate data, and reviewed the relevant public policies applicable at other tertiary institutions.
Niagara Health
What We Did
We conducted an independent systemic review regarding concerns of discrimination within the medical group. We were asked to describe any systemic barriers identified and make recommendations. As part of the process, we gathered information from key participants and stakeholders through a survey and interviews and examined relevant policies and procedures.
Ottawa Police Service
What We Did
We conducted a "pilot" project which consisted of two parts. As part of phase 1, we acted as an outside third-party for the intake and investigation of complaints raised under various policies, and as part of phase 2, we conducted an assessment, which included our reviewing the OPS' workplace culture, practices, policies, and procedures as they related to workplace harassment and discrimination to identify any specific systemic gaps and make recommendations to address any issues we uncovered.
